  1. Thanks, Mike. Frank once phoned to invite me to give a talk to a Beltway discussion group of his. This must have been at least 20-25 years ago, and so the topic of my talk was likely the evolution of intelligence and what it had to do with the tripling of brain size in the last 2.3 million years (the ice ages).
    The audience (a dozen or so) were quite interesting, as was Frank, and I recall wondering if I shouldn’t spend a year in DC sometime. Never happened.
