The President says he won’t bother, but the CDC now recommends use of a face mask. Science is navigating a tortuous path and many perils as it attempts to reach the doors of the White House. Below is an article from Nature medicine. Surgical type face masks tend to decrease droplets from escaping into the air (think of the fog from your breath on a mirror). Such masks may help reduce the spread of the virus from infected people. I’d suggest everyone, when out in the public, wear a surgical type face mask. If you do have a supply, please give some to the staff who are daily meeting the public and have a very limited (or none) access to even a home-made mask. Visitors here should be wearing them. It’s time to ramp up efforts to make our own.

Jim, Are you suggesting that we wear a mask when walking around Skyline? Chris
It seems to me after listening to Dr. Fauci on the PBS news tonight, that if you are in a public place and not able to keep about 6 feet away from folks, that a mask would be a big favor that you are doing for others. I personally think that all of the staff should be wearing a mask. They interface with each other and their families and possibly use public transportation.

Instructions for a No-Sew face mask, below.
Fabric is, ideally, of a tight weave and light weight. When folded, even a bandana becomes quite bulky. (I guess you could press it flatter with an iron.)
Then there is the ear elastic shown…my hair loops are too small. Perhaps the just-right rubber bands would do. Or those cut-up panty hose tops.
