I can recall going to two concerts in the 1970s – one was a Joan Baez concert at the Seattle Center, the other was a Pete Seeger concert at the Moore Theater. Both were benefits – I think the Baez concert was for a veterans organization, the Seeger concert was a benefit for the Floating Homes Association and to honor Terry Pettus.

This was a good reminder that we can continue to recognize and honor those who serve our broad community.

Memories. I went to a Joan Baez concert in Madison, Wisconsin in the late 60’s. What a voice. I also saw a Pete Seger/Arlo Guthrie concert — what a duo!

  2. Neal Jacques says:

While working in central Missouri during the early 60’s, I collected several Baez records. Still have then and listen occasionally. Went to her concert at the Moore. It was truly a solo event–just Joan sitting on a chair in the middle of the stage singing to a full house.
