   There’s still Madison Park Hardware Store–super friendly folks, a real institution. Like a time warp, but the neighbors support it and keep it in business. The former owner, Lola, is now quite elderly but was the unofficial mayor of Madison Park. A man who worked in the store as a high schooler now owns it–worth a visit to purchase seeds, small toys, duplicate keys, etc.–a stroll down memory lane!

   It may be more ‘efficient’ to shop with Amazon but tons more fun to live in a brick and mortar city or village where we have the pleasure of bumping into friends, some of whom are merchants and other PEOPLE ! Many lovely memories from being ‘out and about’ Just bills to show for shopping on line, oh, and dare I add, hours lost hooked up to a computer
