Are you discombobulated? Maybe it’s time to recombobulate!

Thanks to Janet M.

The famous “Recombobulation Area” signs are located at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) in Wisconsin. These signs are placed immediately following the security checkpoints to provide a designated space for travelers to get “recombobulated”—put their shoes back on, gather belongings, and reorganize—after going through TSA screening.

Ed note: Where does discombabulate come from anyway? A quick search provides the following: Origin: Originated in the United States in the early 1800s, with finding the first recorded use in a Maryland newspaper in 1825.“Mock-Latin” Fad: It was part of a popular trend of creating elaborate, absurd, and pseudo-Latin words (“Dog Latin”) to mock educated, high-society speech. Bottom line: You might as well have a smile as you recombabulate! Kudos to Milwaukee.
