Double Delight on display

Incredible photo by Ann Milam–with the Smith Tower framed by these classic roses. Double Delight was Ann’s father’s favorite.

1977 All-America Rose Selections (AARS) Winner: Honored as the premier rose of the year due to its vigorous growth and stunning exhibition bloom form. It is a cross between the red-and-yellow Granada and the ivory Garden Party hybrid tea roses. You can find Granada also in the 4th floor patio rose garden.
World Federation of Rose Societies: It was later inducted into the prestigious Rose Hall of Fame, solidifying its status as one of the most beloved and recognizable roses worldwide.
Color Sensitivity: The intensity of the red coloration relies entirely on sunlight; more direct sun produces a dramatically darker, cherry-red halo, while shaded blooms remain primarily cream.
