The rest of the story

From Mary Jane Francis

Here’s the rest of the story about where this cartoon came from… from a college classmate who’s son is an old friend of Davey Hearn, the man detained [it’s too good not to pass along] –

You’ve read/heard about the three-time Olympic USA canoeist (and five-time World Championships medalist: three silver, two gold) who was arrested and handcuffed at the Reflecting Pool for examining a partly detached paint slab?  Then detained for five hours with his rights never read and no phone call allowed?

There may not be a courtroom large enough to hold his friends or his lawyers. When Davey got his phone back, it was alight with lawyers eager to represent him. His lead lawyer is the worthy Norm Eisen. Google him and have fun.

Davey and his wife for years owned and operated a shop that specialized in the maintenance and repair of canoes, kayaks, surfboards and other stuff that works and plays in water. He is a materials specialist in underwater finishes like paints and epoxies.

He was curious about what had been used to fix the Reflecting Pool.
